Baklava

Baklava

Ingredients

  • 20 sheets of filo pastry, cut to fit the Tefal Air fryer accessories pizza tin
  • 250g melted butter
  • 1/2 cup processed pistachio nuts
  • 1/2 cup processed walnuts
  • ¼ tsp ground cloves
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp icing sugar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method

  1. Brush the Tefal Air Fryer accessory pizza pan with melted butter
  2. Cover the base with 2 sheets of pastry and brush with butter
  3. Repeat until there are 8 layers of brushed pastry
  4. Mix the nuts, cinnamon, clove and icing sugar
  5. Sprinkle a layer of the nut mixture over the pastry. Cover with 2 layers of pastry, then brush with melted butter and repeat until you finish the mixture
  6. Cut the pastry into the size and shape you desire and set to “Air Fry” at 160 ̊C for 45 minutes
  7. In a saucepan, melt the sugar in the water, then add the honey and vanilla. Reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes
  8. When the baklava is cooked, remove from the air fryer and pour the syrup over the baklava
  9. Sprinkle with a little pistachio dust and allow to cool
